What is a health share?

At Anastasis Plus, we are not just another Health Share community. We place immense value on every member’s healthcare journey, striving to transform how healthcare is approached, one shared medical expense at a time. Our Member Guidelines provide clear and transparent expectations, ensuring members feel confident and informed about joining.

How does Anastasis Plus, powered by ShareWELL, manage large medical expenses?

Anastasis Plus powered by ShareWELL brings together individuals from across the U.S. to share in each other’s medical expenses, harnessing the collective strength of community support. Our dedicated advocacy team collaborates with members to negotiate fair pricing for medical services, helping them benefit from lower costs as direct and self-pay patients. With no maximum sharing caps or limits, our community ensures members have access to the resources they need for more significant medical expenses, standing by them during their most critical moments.

Am I legally required to have health insurance?

Tax penalties are no longer enforced at the federal level, and some states have mandates requiring health insurance coverage. Anastasis Plus powered by ShareWELL membership does not satisfy this requirement in states where a tax penalty is still enforced. 

What is a sharing request?

When a member submits medical bills for sharing to the ShareWell community, it is done through a Sharing Request. Sharing Requests are submitted by members on a per-member, per-incident basis. Two types of sharing requests are based on eligible preventive care or expenses that exceed a member’s Unshared Amount. The related expenses are evaluated according to the Membership Guidelines and the applicable preventive services with your membership for eligibility.

Is medical cost sharing a new approach?

Medical cost sharing traces its origins many years back to the Amish and Mennonite communities. It began expanding in the 1980s with the advent of large, Christian-based healthcare-sharing ministries.

The concept has since evolved into principled and religious-based communities. Still, the purpose remains the same: for the community to help relieve the burden of medical bills for members in their time of need.

Are pre-existing conditions eligible for sharing?

Pre-existing conditions not related to preventive care that may be included with your membership will have limitations. Sharing for care related to a pre-existing condition will begin after one year of membership and increase each year for four years.

What about costs that occur abroad?

These costs can be shared, regardless of where they occur, as long as the Sharing Request is eligible based on the Member Guidelines. The ShareWELL community can also support alternative care outside the US.
